Abstract
It is possible to develop perfectly well-running DataStage Jobs that do not deliver meaningful and useful meta data about the ETL environment to the MetaStage repository. Thus the powerful query, impact analysis, and documentation features of MetaStage are rendered virtually useless or at best, severely limited.

This is a ½ day class for DataStage developers which illustrates standards for the DataStage ETL development that will deliver the most complete and intact meta data to MetaStage. This course offering can stand alone and/or be appended or inserted into DataStage training for the ETL team. The course will instruct the students in the concepts of meta data, the importance of meta data management to the ETL environment, and will detail the proper usage of MetaStage with DataStage projects. Through learning and practice in this session you can begin to realize the promised benefit of all the tools that you have purchased.
