About

I’m Barbara Nichols, the founder of Metaview360 and I create levers in businesses that enable a company to perform magnitudes beyond where they thought they could. It is an imperative in today’s world.

A lever is a simple machine that magnifies effort into force. As the physicist Archimedes said, “Give me a lever long enough, and I can move the world”. I believe that data is that lever in business, and I love helping businesses to move their world to a better place for themselves, their customers, and for our increasingly connected society.

I am an Information Technology professional with over 35 years of experience assisting clients and software vendors to develop data driven solutions. I founded Metaview360 in 2002 and consult in the areas of data and information management including: data governance, data warehousing, metadata management, data integration, tool evaluation, and data architecture.

Clients have included A.G. Edwards and Sons, The Australian Tax Office, The Bank of Thailand, McKesson Corporation, Target, Assurant Employee Benefits, Limited Brands, The TJX Companies, Santander Bank, Bread Financial, National Grid, and Fidelity Investments.

I present at various DATAVERSITY conferences and seminars on interesting data topics which have included “Instituting the Meta Data Lifecycle”, “Data Governance in Action”, “Data Architecture in Successful Information Systems Deployment”, “Meta Data Driven Taxonomy”, “Building the Corporate Vocabulary”, and most recently at Enterprise Data World – a tutorial on “Optimizing the Value of your Critical Data Elements”.
